Iva and estate agents

I currently rent a home through an estate agents but when I first rented this home I wasn’t in a Iva. Now I am 2 years in and I’ve found another house same rent price with the same letting agency I would like to view and apply for. On the application forms I’ve noticed it says you must state if you ever been or are in a Iva or ccj or bankruptcy. Obviously I cannot lie and have to say I’m now in a active Iva that I wasn’t 3 years ago. Anyway question being is that my worry is they will see that on the application for myself and my family and just won’t even bother with us. My husband pays the rent and is not in a Iva said be completely honest as we have to but he would offer more deposit than asked for to see if that would work to consider us?
Do you think that would work? I have no intention of hiding my Iva to them but would be embarrassed to admit it but would this idea work if we wanted to apply for this new home? Any ideas or advice be appreciated thank you

If you tried to hide the IVA they would discover it on the credit search and wouldn't, then, be too happy. Some in an IVA get around the failed credit search by offering a guarantor, increased deposit or rent in advance, but it is always better to discuss this all up front. Your current relationship with the agent will help too.

Best of luck.

UPDATE:
So I applied for the house I viewed and was completely upfront before even putting application forms in for the house about my Iva my estate agents was very understanding (been with them 5 years) and said that doesn’t really effect too much it’s landlord choice if they want you or not but my letting agency did put in a good word for me which was kind of them.
Landlord was told about me and the Iva and said was okay and happy with me to proceed the application I done all the checks they require. They did ask me to give a guarantor which luckily my father in law agreed to. I should find out in the next few days If I have a new family home 😊
As much as I was embarrassed about telling them but honesty is the best policy and hopefully all works my way of being fully accepted 🤞🏻

Good news so far --- fingers crossed it all goes well.

We had one poster, a couple of years back, in a similar situation and it turned out that the landlord had actually been in his own IVA not so long ago and he was very sympathetic and agreed to the tenancy !

Oh wow that’s amazing that a landlord had experience what their tenant was currently and understood :)
Should be told that answer by Wednesday fingers crossed 🤞🏻 will keep you guys updated.
Would like to thank you all again for listening while I blabber on about my Iva and challenges I’m facing or have

Final update:

I sooo happy today at lunchtime the letting agency called and approved that I can have the house 😁 regardless me being in a Iva it surely hasn’t stopped me getting a new home I do believe really helped I was honest upfront but also managed to get a guantour . But I do move in 3 weeks time so enjoy Christmas then following week I move out. The joys of stress right there 😂
