His credit is excellent but has been refused a credit card. They say it is because he is associated to me and he needs to becme disassociated. Thanks

Hi Julia
You best bet might be to get a Disassociation Form from the relevant companies directly. Experian has one on their website (or did), the others probably do too. You probably only need one and you can just crib it for the others.
Best Regards, Simon

It was my understanding that creditors were no longer allowed to associate one persons credit file with anothers at the same address ( thus ending the Blacklisted property syndrome.
Would be good for your friend to get a copy of his credit report ( experion / equifax) to make sure thee is nothing he doesn't understand. Also to make sure there hasn't been any identity theft which would obviously affect him.

Mrs Skint - i always thought there was a small cost involved in disassociation ?
Is it really as simple as an email, do you have to email equifax and experian ?

Hi Carl
There was no cost. I emailed them as did mr skint just telling them that i wished to be disassociated as all debts were in his sole name.
They wrote back thanking me for the email and said it would be updated in the next 7 days and also any credit companies that may have been intouch would also be notified of the change.

Oh and they told me to keep the letter as proof should i want to take out any credit so i could show it to the company.

Thanks for your advice.. Will see what happpens. My partner has excellent credit. All he has is a mortgage. He has always paid his loans etc. Will this effect him applying for a credit card? I worry this is all my fault.
