1. After the caller finishes speaking, ask him/her to marry you.

2. Tell the caller you are busy at the moment, and ask him/her if he/she will give you his/her home phone number so you can call him/her back.

3. Ask them to repeat everything they say, several times. & nbsp;

4. Tell them it is dinner time, BUT ask if they would please hold. Put them on your speaker phone while you continue to eat at your leisure. Smack your food loudly and continue with your dinner conversation.

5. Tell them that all business goes through your agent, and hand the phone to your five year old child.

6. Tell them you are hard of hearing and that they need to speak up...louder. ..louder. ..louder!

7. Tell them to speak very slowly because you want to write every word down.

8. If they start out with, "How are you today?", say "I'm so glad you asked, because no one these days seems to care, and I have all these problems.... ........"

9. Cry out in surp rise, "Helen, is that you? I've been hoping you'd call! How is the family?" When they insist they are not Helen, tell them to stop joking. This works especially well if the caller is really MALE.

10. Tell the call center guy to call on your office number. - and give him the CITIBANK call center number.

Brilliant! It almost makes me wish that I had creditors calling still so I could use some of them ... well, on second thoughts ... no, it doesn't.

One of my clients as soon as he realises it is a creditor says

"at the tone leave your name and number beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep" and is quiet.

He says that nobody ever leaves a message as they aren't sure if it is real or not.

Tell them that you already know your mothers maiden name and your dogs name, do they know it? I am not giving you that information, you could be anybody.

I read this on another forum, if they cant get passed the security questions, they cant continue.

I once told MBNA that I was recording the conversation to which the girl at the other end nearly had an eppy fit! She said that is an infrigment of my rights and I do not wish to be recorded!! and then put me through to a manager by this time I was on a roll and told him the same thing he said unless you agree to cancel the recording of this conversation I cannot proceed - Call ended![:D][8D]!

Rainbow, I wonder why??? ALL their calls are recorded, has to be by law so it makes no difference......It goes to show how stupid some call centre operatives are, if they don't realise they are already being recorded, it's in their employment contract!!!!!!!! No offence to any C/centre ops, I used to be one myself so I know first hand how dumb some are!!!!!!!

In all seriousness though, when a creditor calls, what security is there for YOU that it is them asking for your security info and not some dodgy fraudster waiting to hack your bank account? Just need you to confirm your DOB and mothers maiden name... hmmmm [}:)]

None...it is a known fact that some identity fraudsters will contact you, to obtain information about yourself and your finance. How many times do we actually catch their name and where their from first time round??? I know I always have to ask them again....and the amount of info they get out of us in the first few minutes is enough to use in identity theft...
There should be security questions that the customer sets up to verify the company as an additional measure. They always bang on about us protecting our identity but it seems all one sided at the moment. How much 'lost' & 'misplaced' data has there been lately, you can't tell me it has just started happening, it's gone on for years.
Until the powers that are in charge of our senstive information, whether it be companies or the government, take it as seriously as they tell us too, we have little chance of anything remaining secure and confidential!!!!!!!!
