Can you adam and eve it?! I received a letter from Blair Endersby this morning....I'll enter their precise wording:

What would you tell a friend, family member or work collegue about Blair Endersby? Would you tell them about our excellent customer service [Don't make me laugh!!!!] our professional financial advise and our helpful staff? If so, then you could earn yourself £150 for each person you recommend who uses our services.......So if you think someone you know could do with a helping hand from our team of advisors, just tell them to give us a call and quote your reference number - the unique six digit number we gave you when you applied. If their application is successful, £150 could be yours.

Is it me or this somewhat insensitive and inappropriate?!

I wonder if the £150 is classed as a windfall or if they want 50% back?!

Would welcome your thoughts...

Chris [:D]

I used to get incentives like this from my Next Directory....never expected to receive it from my IP!

We found out about this yesterday and find it absolutely appalling. Some of these larger firms are quite clearly desperate for work, and if this is the way they intend to get it then I am shocked that this is happening in my profession.

No harm in asking clients to recommend you, but the inducement of £150 for the pleasure is not appropriate for people who are already in IVAs - and as you say the monies would have to be treated as a windfall, so perhaps creditors will benefit from this.

Thanks Mel, I'm glad you agree and it's not just me!

Whilst I have no intention of publicising my IVA, especially not for financial gain, I am considering a phone call to BE to enquire how they justify payment of £150 without a contribtion from me to the Creditors...just interested to see what they say...

I suspect that the £150 WON'T take the form of a cash incentive, more likely some, say, Mark and Spencers vouchers as a "goodwill gesture"
I stand to be corrected of course so if anyone has actually claimed their "reward" it would be intersting to hear their experiences.

Regards.

Outofpocket - in my experience with them NO!!!!
Good luck with your review, they whacked my payment up even though my I & E has gone up regardless and there communication is extremely poor except when they are ringing you hassling you on the phone with a rude person the other end and totally inexperienced call centre workers

I think it's totally disgusting that they are touting for business like this!
To be totally fair, if they were as good as they say, they wouldn't need to bribe their clients to recommend them to their friends to generate more business for them, they would do it anyhow.
Many people would not want to discuss the fact that they are having financial problems anyhow so how much business do they realistically expect to generate through this campaign?

Hi Outofpocket, have to agree with RayB I'm afraid. You should be fine so long as there are no major changes to your income.

Exactly Chris G.....If they think I'm going to send an email to all my work collegues, they have another thing coming! I'd die of shame!

Hi Outofpocket

I got one of these letters myself yesterday and have already posted about it on the forum "Recommend a Friend". I certainly would never, ever recommend BE to any friend of mine. After the way I have been treated by them since they got their hooks into me, I don't think I would have many friends left after BE had finished with them!
