Hi

there are certain jobs that you wold be excluded from or made difficult if you started an IVA or went Bankrupt, however I am not aware of any restrictions re any insovency position and a medical career.

You might find it helpful to post a list of your debts ( with creditor details) and income / expenditure here to get some advice about the way ahead.

enjoy the rest of the day

You may struggle to apply to become a GP if you have been bankrupt, so if this is your chosen route I would carefully consider whether an anonymous chat with the General Medical Council is a good idea. if you anticipate working in a hospital as a house doctor or in surgery, there ought to be little problem if you have been declared bankrupt in the past.

Hi Sean ... I just wanted to say hello and welcome to the forum. Please don't see yourself as wanting to face up to and deal with your debt problems as "failure" ... it's a very courageous thing to do.

As Paul says, it would be useful if you were to post some figures here as there are plenty of wonderful experts here who would cast an eye over them for you and give some excellent advice on what your options may be.

And if bankruptcy does turn out to be your only option try to think of it along the lines that the laws of society are helping to free you up to be able pursue a course of your life that will ultimately give much, much more back to humanity ... this is the way that I tried to perceive it in terms of my own vocation [:)]

All the best ... and keep in touch with the Forum.
