Well I was always going to save this one as a self-generated one and really all I want to say is a huge thank you to all of the posters on the forum who make this the very best debt community site I think existing on the world wide web.

I also came across it by chance in January last year, got hooked and have been amazed how the site has grown over the year, largely to the efforts of Andy Davie and his IT support team who work tirelessly to keep it running and updated.

Even those of us who post as industry professionals, gain a huge amount of information and experience from corresponding and sharing ideas, thoughts and experiences - and this is such a valuable medium for keeping up to date with developments in the industry, creditor attitudes and simply good, honest gossip.

I am so looking forward to meeting so many frugal friends in Birmingham, and am sure we will have a good evening. Andy Davie works tirelessly to make these events work, and has gone from just getting a couple of members to I think the biggest one yet due in Birmingham at the end of this month. There is much work still to do in terms of spreading the word, another debt debate in London on 2 May which is looking very interesting, and I hope to meet many more of you in person over the next few months.

The success of this site is yours, and my input is just a mere ocean drop to the number of hits and posts this site actually does receive in an average month. Awesome!

Not only do i think its a good idea for the forum to have an award but i also think awards should go to Andy and Mel in recognition for all the time and work that goes into keeping a lot of people sane.
The advice is true, honest and non-judgemental.
You guys are so passionate about this forum.
Well done Mel and a HUGE thanks to you both.

Congratulations Melanie, I have said it before and I'll say it again - Your help and support is invaluable on this forum - You consistantly give good honest sound advice and I am impressed how you as a professional take time out of your busy day to continue to support this forum and us. I know in my own case had it not been for your words of wisdom I would have given up at the beginning of the IVA process and I am sure its like that for many others on here. So well done take a bow and a glass of champers! and of course a trophy not a medal you deserve far more. Thanks again. and here's to the next 10000 - November 15th 2008 is my bet!

Melanie, Well done, and i for one would like to say a very big thankyou, because without your help and advise on this forum, i don't know what i would have done. You are indeed very special to give up your time and patience to help other people, who sometimes feel like theres nowhere to go, so well done and thankyou xx

Hi Melanie
I have only been on the forum a short time but I already realise what a committment ( and pleasure !) it will be.

Just really wondered if anyone had realised the "service to community" angle and wonder how one goes about putting forward nominations for the New Years Honours List.

Assuming the current run rate of 10,000 posts per year I anticipate you will have given many hundreds / thousands of hours to help people completely free of charge .

Maybe someone in the know would likel to take that up.

Congrats & very well done!

Andrew - are you a betting man (Ha Ha!!) - your date for the next 10,000 posts is very precise - think you will have started a good game now. I have no idea what I am basing it on but I will say 1st Dec 08.

Reviva - your suggestion of New Years Honours list - or something within the industry is seconded.

You should be so proud of everyone you have helped on the forum (me included[:)]) and as if you are not busy enough at work all day helping people you seem to be on the forum at all hours of the day and night.

I truely was a the end of my tether when I found the forum and am so grateful for all the help I recieved from everyone. I really think it was a lifesaver for me[:)]
