My wife had a phone call a few minutes ago from PLFB collections on behalf of Barclaycard,,she said the chap on the end of the phone was demanding payment of arrears straight away,, he also asked if a family relative could pay for us,,infact according to my wife he was very rude & kept on talking over her has she was trying to explain our IVA.
He said he had no information about our IVA meeting etc,,etc, etc,, It a good job my wife is used to dealing with these kind of phone calls through her work.
Makes you wonder how many collection departments Barclays have,, they have by far been our worse creditor.

I agree Mike, they are relentless, although they have been a bit quiet on our phones for a few days....lulling us into a false sense of security! I'm sure they will be back with avengance next week!

Barclays are one of my main creditors - but the phone's been unplugged for the last two weeks - had one letter over the barclayloan and one from Barclaycard - not hard to guess they're going to get much worse??!!

I just used to write to them, tell them I would only deal with them via the mail (not that they took any notice of that!) and used to explain what was happening.

Just used to get the standard red letters back, and the 'we will send round the debt collectors' ones.

No one ever turned up!

I'll do the same then! Have had a template letter today from VB to send to our creditors, which they will all be receiving next week. Phone will stay unplugged..happy days! x

Best thing to do with the phone - it's what we did until we had BT Broadband talk and got a seperate number and it was then a pleasure to answer the phone.

Are BT Broadband talk cheaper than Virgin? Don't think we have a BT line, and believe its quite expensive to have one put in? x

I've sent the letter to all my creditors, more than 2 weeks ago. The only one which has responded by letter and no calls is Northern Rock.

Nationwide were quite good when I spoke to them but they started ringing me again yesterday.

I've had zero calls today which is good.

No post either which is bad as I am awaiting some documents....is the postal strike still on?

Cath I think theres Postal strikes in a differant area every other day and it could get worse this month.

I know it's so frustrating when your waiting for documents and on a couple of occassions I rang my loan companies up and asked them to re-send the docs......with my estate agent I ended up getting them to email the valuation document through and sent it to my IP by email.

I am fortunate to have a printer/scanner which I must admit has been a boon over the past few weeks and saved on postage and delays in getting my docs to Angela. Everything I receive (and with 11 creditors it's a lot of credit card statements and correspondance) I scan then email to Angela at Melanies company. She then prints it off at the other end and if any hard copies are required they can be forwarded in slow time. It also allows me to copy and keep everything on the PC should it be needed later or re-sent at anytime.

No printing off of documents at our end! We are entirely electronic, so having scanned documents from our clients is a real bonus!

Oh I didn't realise that Melanine, can I scan my payslips or do you require the originals, as I do send them in religiously every 3 months.
