Today I have had just about enough of Barclaycard; I answered the phone and they wanted my husband - I would not put them through. I do not know if it was barclaycard or Mercers but they were rude, offensively personal and I will not tolerate being told to "get an abortion". I have made an official complaint to the Police - completed their forms etc and I have told them that unless they act then I shall seek a writ of Mandamus to force them to act. My husband's friend is a solicitor but not in criminal work but he says he knows how to apply for and obtain and will apply for a writ of Mandamus for us foc if it comes to it. There can be no possible excuse for such behaviour; my husband is hoping they will come to the house and when they do (if they do) they will be removed by force. IVA in place and they could not care less. J

A further development - because my husband cannot see properly at prsent a friend has taken him into town and he is going into the local branch of Barclays - the Manager there will be told a few home truths about the behaviour of his bank and so will their customers. My husband has lost his temper for the first time I have known him- 26 years - I have never seen him so angry - they have started on the wrong one. I wish I had not told him but perhaps something may be done now.J

What do they mean by the comment you have quoted. This behaviour must not be allowed to contine and I am absolutely appalled.

I have heard some bad things in the past but that has to be the worst. Like Melanie I do not understand what their comment meant but whatever it was supposed to mean is totally unjustifiable and a complete disgrace.

What a disgraceful thing to say J! I'm not surprised you are both so angry.

To be fair to the local manager - he won't have anything to do with the call centres, but hopefully he can get in touch with someone who does and get something done about it.

I do not know what their comment meant - it was said because I refused to pass them onto my husband; he will not let this one go. The last words the man uttered. My husband has come back - white with anger. Whoever these people are they have started on the wrong one. Disgusting behaviour to say the least of it. J

I am taking this further on your behalf J- we will find out if Barclaycard record their calls and trace this person. I am meeting the people who vote for Barclaycard on Friday, and will definately be lodging a serious complaint.

Thank you Melanie - they will deny it of course - the man spoke with a Northern Irish accent. We do not have a recording device but if they telephone again I shall tell them the call is being recorded. Disgusting creatures - noone should ever say that to anyone let alone a woman. They have no idea as to my religion so it cannot be for that reason. I and my husband are taking this further and I shall swear a Statutory Decalartion if needs be. I just hope they send someone here.J

this is absolutely disgraceful. This sort of behaviour should be dealt with severely through the courts and hopefully the police will take some action.

I think the majority of call centres record the calls these days 'training purposes' they laughingly call it.

Hopefully they will get to this call before it is erased and do something about it.

You have every right to be angry J, both of you do.

It was a disgraceful thing to say and the caller deserves to be hung, drawn and quartered!

Thank you Jan - everything is so really very good now apart from that shower. My husband says he hopes the PP will let him off lightly for his penance for his lost temper when goes to the box!!! Melanie got a very difficult proposal through for us, the budget we can manage - because Melanie even got the extra music lessons through and now that mob! Well, I suppose it takes all sorts but if we ever win the lottery it will not be Barclays or HSBC who will look after it!!!!J

David has every right to be angry - I'm sure my hubby would be the same.
