Hello,
My IVA was eventually accepted this week after the refusals on the proposal were turned into acceptances at the adjourned meeting this week.
My thanks must go to Melanie and Thomas (the principal people in my dealings) for helping me start on the road to debt freedom, without their help I would not feel how I feel right now.
They really are an excellent professionally run firm and I would highly recommend anyone thinking of starting an IVA to call Melanie's firm in the first instance, you will not regret it.

PS Does anyone know what type of chocolates Melanie and her team like? I would like to send a small token of my appreciation for all the help over the last few months.

Agree - what Melanie did for my husband was out of this world - we always suggest people go to her; can't help you re chocs - my husband has made Melanie a promise for the 60th payment - he won't forget but I hope Melanie does not. They are the best firm in the business - no doubt about that! Many, many congrats from both of us here. J

I have to say that personally the outcome of this case is one of the most pleasing moments for myself and my team this year. Laurels and his wife are completely committed to their IVAs, and without going into specific details are going above and beyond the unusual monthly payments as they genuinely wish to repay as much as they possibly can to creditor over a realistic timescale.

Up to date at the moment with all my creditors but with £3k coming in and £4k going out each month its getting more and more difficult robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Have forwarded everything to Melanies team and just hope that she can help in someway, but I truly feel like I've let myself and my family down by running up nearly £130k of debt....long story, which when i get the courage to tell I will share on these boards.

After 26 years of marriage my Wifes family think she should divorce me due to my debt and I am now looked upon by them as a "good for nothing" who deserves everything I get.....which after all these years of supporting them in their hardships sticks in the throat a tad.

Done 25 years in the Army and never in all my time did I envisage ever being in this position but here I am....with a long road ahead.

In any event reading the posts on these forums shows that people can turn things around and I intend to do my best to follow in their footsteps. Fingers crossed!

Pennyless......we've all robbed Peter....poor bloke [:D] The important thing is you've faced up to the debt and are doing something about it. I hope you're wife is supporting you, it is daunting but you will get to the end. In 5 or 6 years time you'll be debt free can your wife's family honestly say they will be?

Don't let silly comments get to you and use this forum to offload and get support...thats what we're here for. Start new posts whenever you need to...you might find writing a blog helps too.

Melanie I REALLY do hope so but whatever the outcome I feel that even your advice will in someway help.

I really do feel like I'm in a living nightmare at the moment and at the same time very selfish as theres a lot more people out there with not just money concerns but health and family problems.

My wife does charity work for a local hospice dealing with patients that have no future to look forward to whatsoever and i feel so guilty at times that I have money worries but I know I have to get my life back together.

I have now looked at your case and have a solution for you. Tina will discuss this with you tomorrow, and don't worry help is at hand.
