My IVA will be 4 years next March, I work in the banking industry and although they had it on file that I had an IVA they have just suspended me pending an investigation.

Tom that is dreadful so far down your IVA.
I also work for a bank and they have it on file as I let them know about my IVA.
What reasons are they giving?
Have you spoken to your union?

Hi Carrie
I have a meeting on Thursday with them, as I work for a third party company my boss is very supportive so I will see what happens then.
Many thanks
Tom

Hi Tom - as its been on your file ( hopefully you will have a copy of this dated) I really can't see it being a problem.

Hi,
If the worst came to the worst, and hopefully it won't - then I would approach your IP, tell them what has happened and ask if they can accept what has been paid as a full and final.

Sound practical advice from Jan as usual there. In the (hopefully unlikely) event of termination, then a visit to an employment lawyer looks in order as well if the situation is as you describe it above.
Regards.

Good luck from me too Tom. Seems a kneejerk reaction and I agree with Size5 that you should seek legal advice if anything comes of this.

Tom thats awfull. My Wife also works for a bank and told the HR boss that she was considering an IVA. She was informed that as she was not in a "customer facing" role it would not be a problem and in any case it was only BR that would be a problem for her employees.
Good luck.

I hope it doesn't come to it Tom, but I do agree that you should speak to a solicitor if things get bad.
You can usually get an initial consultation free.

Disgraceful. Threaten them with the European Court of Human Rights - you have done something positive to deal with your debts, and they should be congratulating you on that not suspending you.

Hi Tom and a good luck from me, life is difficult enough when you are trying to balance out debts, life etc without the added problem of this. I hope that whomever you are meeting with tomorrow sees sense and as Melanie says congratulate you for having taken a very positive step towards becoming debt free and not only that having done it for 4 years now.
