Hello All,
I promised to let you all know what happened. As I explained before, having paid into my IVA for 4 years, as I approached my annual review last month, my circumstances changed. I took a big drop in income, through circumstances beyond my control and could no longer afford the payments.I was at my wits end with worry and came here for information and advice. It was here that I found out that one option might be to ask for a variation on my IVA and request my creditors accept the four years of payments as full and final settlement. A meeting had to be set up and I had to be available by telephone. As the day arrived my stomach was in knots waiting for the phone call. It arrived and I heard the magic words- your creditors have accepted your proposal!WOW! It will take 4-6 weeks to finalise, but I cannot even begin to express my relief. My sincere gratitude to all who informed,advised and supported me. This site is an absolute godsend.
