I started my IVA in 2004 and basically had to start it all over again a year later as my salary dropped!

Two weeks ago I completed my 5 years (6 years if you include the first year) and I can now say I did it!!

It was hard at times, especially when in that time several of my work colleagues went bankrupt and I thought 'whats the point in carrying this on' as I just saw their debt issues disappear and it seemed an easy escape for them.

I am pleased that I have at least paid my creditors something back and I still have my self respect and also an extra £262 per month!

Best of luck to everyone thinking of taking out an IVA and to those people paying into one!

Keep paying folks and one day like me it will all be over.

Best Wishes
Ian

Thanks Kallis!

One very important point that I didn't mention was the loved ones that support us to get through our IVA's and that it affects all family members!

My wife has been fantastic support and I would like to say Thank You Ang x

That's lovely Ian!

Hubby and I are both in an IVA so support each other, and of course I rely on the forum and I have made such good friends on here who have helped.

Well done Ian and an excellent post. It is always good to see there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Maybe the first thing to do with your £262 is treat yourself and Ang to something nice.

Thank you very much for the kind words from everyone!

I just wish that I had found this website, when I was feeling a bit negative and needed some motivation, during my IVA, although my wife kept me going!!

Keep up the good work everyone and I will continue to use this site and give encouragement to anyone that needs it!

Once again many thanks to all.
