Hi All

Got the hump yesterday so emailed my IP directly and got a phonecall back from one of the managers this morning. They are going to finalise the variation report today and email it through to me.

Been advised to cancel my standing order (but keep the money to one side just in case)

As I have paid back almost double my original 33p in the £, they reckon the creditors will write off the outstanding arrears.

Unfortunately my agreement states that it can take up to 28 days to call a creditors meeting, so going to have to wait another month to find out for sure.

But fingers crossed I have finished my IVA and am finally debt free.

Has anyone else been in the same situation with arrears at the end? Did your variation end with payments up to date?????

Jess xxxx

Hi Jess,

I've seen lots of cases where the dividend has improved during the course of the IVA and a variation is needed at a late date- I have faith that your creditors will be happy for you to write off the arrears, but if you can afford to pay it back over a reasonable amount of time it really does depend on the voting representatives.

Keep us updated with the meeting date so we know when to cross our fingers for you!

Its 2.5k so not unless they extend it for 6 months, I really hope they don't, at the moment I can't afford to eat :-(

In that case I really can't imagine you'll have a problem. Don't worry and have faith! :)

thanks liam, I will keep you up to date when I know when the meeting is. Going to be hard to sleep for the next month, being in limbo until I know for sure. But what is another month after five whole years! ;-)
