Heya all :)

Last payment left bank today!!
DFD don't look at it until the end of the month but yay - all done!
It's been tough going at times, with kids being kids and husband out of work for 2 months due to redundancy but we got there in the end.
Seems amazing when I think about it - we paid back 100% plus the fees and it feels so great.

To all of you just starting out or near the start, it might seem hard at times but before you know it, you'll be where I am now and looking forward to living life well (without credit lol)!
Just remember that your IVA company are there to help, so if you have any hiccups along the way, don't panic, there's always a way forward :)
Seems there's a few of us at the end - congratulations to all of you!!

Well done and Congrats. Not far behind you and getting excited.
But also I'm beginning to worry about it.
Is that normal?

Well done kazzy!

Why are you worrying Ivaniva?

I worried a bit that there'd be some kind of nasty surprise at the end - after talking to DFD and getting things straight in my mind about the whole closure process I'm not worried at all!
Think some of it was fear of the unknown, and of course not believing it's really gonna be all over!!
Is there anything in particular worrying you Ivaniva or just the same kinda thoughts as me?

well done Kazzy and to pay back 100% plus fees is even more of an achievement - only a few of us are able to do this and I agree with you it does feel amazing and you should be very proud of yourselves. Now sit and think through your next steps ...after 10 months of no IVA payments I am still living on my I&E budget as I have found it very rewarding and so nice to be putting away a significant amount each month for a contingency etc - brilliant and well done !

Just a bit nervous that something may go wrong at the last minute.
No reason why but just my paranoia. It's been a long journey and I wish I'd known about this forum before. It really is a great help.

Congrats Kazzy on making your last payment. I'm hoping to be in your position with just 3 more payments due from me. I'm with DFD too. What was the closure process like? I'm wondering when DFD will contact me and if so, what will they ask for to complete IVA? Do they still request last 3 months bank statements, paylsips, P60 etc even though you're due to complete. Can't wait to finish.

I would contact them once your final payment has left your account and confirm with them they have received it and no further payments are required - I would also ask if youcan cancel standing order - don't do it until you have it confirmed that final payment has been received. My certificate took approx 12 weeks to come through but I did have to chase and in the end Declan who posts on here intervened for me. Well done and start to play your debt free life - it's almost here !

Thanks Luluj. That sounds like a plan. I'll wait about a 5 days or so after my last payment in begin of Nov has left bank account and will then contact DFD to confirm they have received, and then hopefully they'll say yes and I can cancel dd. DFD did confirm with me a couple of months ago that my last payment if definitely due Nov, but I'll not cancel until they have confirmed receipt. To be honest I'm not even thinking of the completion certificate at this stage. I'm just more concerned about knowing when my next monthly paycheck is all mine lol. I want to go away on hol for my 30th birthday next year with no debt hanging over me. All the best :)
