Well, we completed our IVA in August, and I just wanted to share how everything is going....
We had a celebratory holiday in October with my 3 stepchildren to EuroDisney. It was the most wonderful holiday I have ever had, and because we purchased annual tickets we are going back for Whitsun. We made some wonderful memories, and the best part was not having to worry about the IVA.
A week before we went away we received out completion cert which was a bonus. [:)]
We had a great Christmas, but then 30th Dec my car gave up completely. We had decided to look for a new car later in the year, so we just brought it forward. I always said I would never have credit again, but sometimes needs must. So we have a newer car on finance, BUT the finance is only for 2 years. We didn't have a brand new one - only a 54 reg, but good enough. And I like it that the term is only 2 years, plus the payments are only a quarter of our IVA payment. And its still nice that we aren't worrying about money.
The bills are paid on time and there is no juggling, but there is is still no worrying about the post and phone calls.
The finance will eventually help us build our credit rating again. We made sure we could afford the payments, and the company we are with are great.
It was a long 5 and half years in the IVA, but there is light at the end of the tunnel...and what a learning curve it was for us. xx
