Well folks after a year with the closures team at GT we have finally received our completion certificate and our IVA is done with. I would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thankyou to everyone on here for the invaluable advice over the last 3 and a half years. We couldnt have managed without it and it was reassuring to know that whatever happened we weren't on our own. You should all be very proud of the lifeline you offer to the many people who have nowhere else to turn
Now if i could ask your advice for the last time. Now the euphoria has settled i havn't a clue what to do next. I was wondering if there was anywhere on here i could see a guide of what to do next and who i need to contact and so on. I know i need to check our credit files but im not sure what it is im supposed to do with the information once i have it. I would be very grateful if one of you could point me in the right direction or indeed if you have been through this yourself then any tips on how to proceed would be very much appreciated.
Once again a massive thankyou for all your advice and support and long may it continue. xx

First up great news on finally getting a cc!!
I'd be tempted to wait a few months before worrying about the credit files as much of it updates automatically. If you want sign up to noddle to get a free look at whats there.
Regarding the files you are simply checking that all accounts are marked as settled or satisfied and that no defaults are on there dated after you signed the iva. If there are contact the creditor in question and ask them to change the default date.

Wow what great news, a final closure.
I'll definitely be looking at the replies on your post with interest as I'm awaiting my certificate (not been long enough yet) but once it's here it's good to know what we should be doing to tidy things up.
Hope your debt free future is a very happy one.

Hi Hopeful, very well done. Could I just ask how PPI was managed for your IVA?

Congratulations. Well done.
But yes that is a good question from "I am fed up" because GT has lead me to beleive that all closures are held up. What did they do to get your CC out during this PPI crisis?

It took so long with the closure team because of the ongoing PPI claim. I can only assume that this has been dealt with or else we wouldnt have received the certificate. We havnt been notified of the outcome of the PPI claim though but this may be standard procedure. I would be interested to know if any monies were reclaimed from the PPI though. Thanks for the advice so far and also the good wishes xx

Didn't you have to complete PPI forms or a disclaimer or anything similar? I have been waiting over a year since my last payment, is that what you have waited? Or do you mean a year since going into closure i.e 18 months? Sorry for all the questions...

We paid our F&F in January 2012 and then took almost 7 months after that for them to say we had to sign all the paperwork for PPI claim and were told it could take another 4 months which it did so it was 13 months in all since F&F payment. We were getting nowhere until i sent an email in January asking for their internal complaints details and telling them in no uncertain terms that it was a disgrace to wait for so long and i wanted to complain officially. we got our certificate around 3 weeks later. I received a customer survey form with our CC but with no address to send it to. Ive since had them send one out and i hope theyre ready for the comments. x

Many Thanks for the feedback. If it was an F and F and not simply running through from a final payment in Jan 2012 it seems they are giving priority to those cases.
I too had conversations with them 7 months after January 2012 re PPI and even after chasing them they failed to send me any forms and still haven't. Interesting that you made an official complaint which yielded results as I thought that's what I was doing during last year but apparently not!
