Does the IVA allow for your monthly car insurance payment? Mine is very high due to an accident at my fault this year so it’s going to be approx £75 per month. Will this be ok?

Yes, you are allowed to claim for car insurance. If that's what you are paying, then you put that down as your expense.

Should not be a problem but it could also be the make and model of the car you are driving. Have you checked around for any other car insurance quotes online?

For my two pennorth, I found Tescos about 30% cheaper than anywhere else so I would heartily recommend them on a personal level, I got clubcard points too!!

Tesco were ok until I had to claim from them when I wrote my car off - they were a nightmare!

They've probably improved a lot now so don't worry! I don't think they would still be in business if they hadn't!
I wrote my car off as I went into the back of a drunk illegal immigrant on New Years Day a few years ago, and after being towed 60 miles home I rang Tesco and was told I couldn't report the accident as it was a bank holiday! I phoned back the next day and they said they would send an assessor out - over a week later and after numerous phone calls he came out and said the car was a write off. Apparently the delay was because they couldn't find the car - as I pointed out to them it was the car with the squashed front parked outside my mums!
They eventually paid me, but not until they'd lost my file twice and I'd had to threaten I would take it further if they didn't get the cheque to me, as at the time they didn't offer a courtesy car.

Drunk illegal immigrant on New Years Day? You've certainly had your fair share of experiences Skippy!! Thanks for the reassurance though.

It could only happen to me! We were driving home from Chichester and as I hadn't drunk very much on NYE I said I'd drive. The guy didn't indicate and I didn't see any brake lights and I didn't stop until I hit the car. The guy was arrested and deported the next day.
I can laugh about it now, but we were lucky - it was my Fiesta against an Audi A6. I'm still nervous about driving now if I don't know the roads, and I make Dave drive on country roads.
To be honest I will look at Tesco insurance next year as I'm paying a fortune to Churchill each month. I've claimed from them a couple of times though and they were great.

I am with Virgin which all can be done online, I found them 'comparable' to other quotes but if you pay monthly they don't charge any extra which is great.
I actually haven't any dealings with them and hopefully I won't in the future so I don't really know how good they are but the 'no interest' charge for monthly is a big plus for me.
If you use Quidco and pay in a lump sum, a number of people in work have got a lot of cashback from some of the insurance companies that are on there.

I found quickfit to be the cheapest. I got a free mot and oil change as well! plus there's discount on tyres etc.
never had to claim though, so I don't know if they are any good on that side.

Try Kwik Fit Insurance online - found them very very competative (Underwritten by Zurich)
