I lived through the Miners Strike in South Wales in the mid '80s, and it was absolutely horrific to see what both sides could actually do to each other.

It split whole communities, and left family members still not speaking to each other, and got the miners absolutely nowhere. We still have coalfields here full of coal in Wales, but the cost of paying the workforce made it inefficient, and now coal is imported from abroad.

There has to be a better way???

I have to say indebt, that with the last strike that we had, most of my office, and a lot of other people in other departments went into work. Only 2 people that I work closely with went on strike. There has never been any animosity between any of us, or the people in other offices who went out, and it has never been talked about since.

We never did get a better offer either.
