Hi,
My next door neighbours had some visitors over from Australia over for a few weeks, who went back today.
I was just talking to my husband about them, and he said that the guy offered him (well all but) work out there!
We were discussing it, and whether we would think about moving etc (my Mum is 75, so that bothers me) - but obviously we have just started our IVA route, so wanted to know whether that would stop us even thinking about it.
If it would be ok - has anyone ever thought about it, or know anyone that has, and what are the procedures etc.
Like i say all hypothetical - but I would seriously consider it, as it would offer us and our little girl a better future.
Thanks!.

I think I have read one or two posts on here about it. I am sure anyone who has looked into it will advise you.
You go for it if you can. This country is going to the dogs and there is nothing for youngsters these days

Moving to another country whilst in an IVA would not be a problem as long as you could maintain your monthly payments.

obviously to go out there you need enough points on the immigration points system(even if your offered work). some friends of mine went (it did take a years application process)
My friends love it inOz,but it did take them several years to get settled..the thing they miss most is their parents and family. her mother took it really badly when they left.[8D]

Thanks very much - I have had a look on a couple of websites, and see that it can tale up to a year - mnight be something we look at now, or if too difficuolt, we will wait until the IVA has finished.
With my Mum being 75, not sure if I would want to leaver her - dh says to ask her to come with us if need be, but not sure she'd do that.
We shall see.

Hiya Kal, living abroad and paying your IVA wouldn't be a problem.
We also, are contemplating emergrating to Oz, hubby a bicklayer and I'm a hairdresser, both jobs that are in demand so we pass the points test. The problem is the bankruptcy...I've searched the emigration website and can't find anything about financial problems stopping us going APART from the 'must be of good character' bit...... hopefully, this will mean more or less having a bit of a shady past as opposed to facing up to our debt problem and sorting it out......
ps. I did email them to ask but was advised to ring the immigration line.....cost of £1 per minute! Ouch!! [:(]

I found this website, where you can do a quick check;
https://www.migrationbureau.com/freeass ... qccomplete
I filled the form in, and they reply within 2days - I put on one of the parts that we are in an IVA, so that's bound to set the alarm bells ringing for them!
What concerns me, is that I have read that they want you to have money in the bank...if I had that, then the IVA would have it!!!
Also what about my house, if I sold it what happens to any equity etc.
