Is there any way you can leave the company your with when your're already half way through an IVA. I am very unhappy with our service, I have just got our IP's email from the Insolvancy Service as in all this time we have never been able to have direct communication with him and we appear be going round in circles with emails and telephone calls from the "team".

You cant really change companies half way through.
You could let your IVA fail and then propose another one but then you would be starting the whole process again.

And a very destructive process that would be too.

In what way are you dissatisfied with the level of service you are getting?

They are just not listening. I can't get directly though to the IP. I want to speak to them about the review we've just had and no-ones available. I've provided evidence for absolutley everything and even something as basic as my TV licence which I was allowed in 2005 at £10 is now £11.67 and that's not been allowed. I know it's only a small difference and I have bigger issues but this is what I'm up against. They've allowed me £87 for council tax when I was getting £90 in 2005 - everyone knows that's gone up not down as it's actually £106pm? I'm really frustrated with them.

If you go on to www.insolvency.gov.uk you can search for your IP's email address so that you can contact them directly

Thank you.

There's no way I would let my IVA fail, we've come too far now but we have arrears from trying to sell our house and making reduced payments, do you think by offering to extend by another couple of months at the end of the 5 years is a reasonable offer to pay back our arrears as there's absolutely no way we can pay anything extra from the £300 we have to live on when everythings gone out in DD's etc.

There is no harm in asking. I had arrears a while ago and they have been tagged on to the end so I think you have a good chance

Ray's advice is sound. I can well imagine that your Supervisor is unaware of the difficulties you are having. Direct e-mail is a very good way of bringing such matters to the personal attention of the IP.

Whilst I was typing you posted extra messages. Ah, you are in arrears. How much?

It's about £1800 and we are paying £908 per month now. We had permission to go in arrears as were were trying to sell our house to release the equity for a F&F but that was before house prices crashed and we had to take it off the market. We incurred solicitors charges and I had to by a car (an old banger) as I changed jobs and the company car went back Like I said all this was with permission.

So 2 months arrears. As Ray says, no reason why they shouldn't be tacked onto the end, unless your IVA has a harsh default clause.

It would, however, appear that your problem is a bit more fundamental. See my response to your other thread. If you can get an e-mail to the IP direct hopefully you'll be able to make some headway.

Thanks very much for your advice, there's great support here. When I first wrote earlier on today I was furious at the injustice of it's all but you've given me perspective and now although I'm still going to contact my IP, I'm just gonna hunker down and get on with it, we're halfway through now so there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Hi Andrea
You have a great attitude
Get hold of your IP,as described above and don't give up until you get a sensible answer.
In large firms reviews are undertaken by admin staff and they can be too black and white with figures.
Common sense should prevail and I am sure that once you speak with your IP things will be better.
I would suggest tagging on missed payments to the end of your IVA and also have the monthly payment reduced to a realistic and affordable level.
Please let us all know how you get on.
Regards

This does tend to be an all too familair situation doesn't it. I had exactly the same trouble when my IVA hit a wobbly time ... it took me almost seven months before I could manage to speak to my IP ... although all was well that ended well.

Hubby was told that "Mr Redmond does not take calls"
Mad really when its people like ourselves that keep him out of the problems we have all had.

I understand that DFD are a very large firm and i also understand that he cant be available to take all calls but this is peoples lives.

If he cant be available then why not employ somebody who is available and actually knows what they are talking about.

Anyway, the email should do the trick because for some reason the staff will bend over backwards to help if it means the IP's dont get disturbed.
