Not sure if this is the right place, but I am going to London tomorrow and will be at Queens, Stella Artois Tuesday and Wednesday for the tennis.

Have been given the tickets, managed to pay for hotel and my eldest and me will have three days of tennis and the London sights! We are both excited, just hope we do not need too much money!

Feel a little guilty , as we will be enjoying ourselves and have not long gone into an IVA. Have scrimpted and saved for hotel and train fare, hope to enjoy and have enough money to eat!

Tennis is the only thing I love to watch, My son and I are so excited a day for the sights of London and two days for tennis.

Yes it feels so great being able to pay for hotel ect with cash and not on credit, just hope we have enough to eat and drink (soft drinks I mean!)

Off tomorrow morning after dropping the others to school, think we will do all the free museums.

Remember the hotels nearly always ask to pre authorise your card for £50 when you arrive to book in (to cover mini bar etc) I just tell them ive left my cards at home and I wont be needing their exras!! ) ..works every time!

Thanks for that info Jpj, i have made sure that there is money on my debit card, but will not be using mini bar ect and could do without money being earmarked just in case.

i want to set one up for yearly costs like car tax an servicing an emergencies etc

There was a thread for them a while back, but I think they charge you a monthly fee and then a fee you pay for things.

If you can try to put in a savings account and transfer when needed.

I have a nationwide account and an e account which I try to unsuccessfully try to save money, but can transfer from one to the other online when needed.

I got my card through mycashplus.co.uk

I think some charge you per transaction and some a set amount.

Ive got the gold cashplus card. not the cheapest at £4.95 a month but you can use it as much as you want for no extra fees. I have my own business so in my case it worked out ok as I use it more often.

Just google pre paid card and have a hunt around![:)]
