When I was applying for an IVA I cancelled my Sky TV subscription to enable a higher rate of disposable income. I was happy to do it. I am probably now in a position to afford one of the packages and I was wondering if Sky will do a credit check when I contact them. I still receive TV through their dish and box so it would just be a case of reactivating my account. Does anyone know if Sky will do a credit check? Thanks.

Hi,

In the terms and conditions is says "may conduct a credit search" however when i had sky tv installed again they didn't do one . I didn't mention my IVA as they didn't ask. You should be okay

At worst I think they may ask for a small deposit if you are unlucky enough to actually get "checked" a bit like BT do which becomes refundable.

Good luck

We left Sky for about 2 years and then went back to them. They hooked us up the same day and we're glad to have us back! They did not do a check because we previously had an account with them.

Thanks for the responses. I'm not thinking of doing it until August - when the footie starts again!
