Hi Melanie
Ive put a few threads on here recently, im 1 month into my second iva, paying £313 a month, and ive lost my job, they are going one step further and refering me to the nursing council, anyway, i am desperatly trying to find a job, but i cant find one that paid the same income (£22890), so im on JSA and about to miss one months IVA payment.
What should I do, should i call a halt to this now and go bankrupt? Or should I ask for my IVA supervisor to put the variation in for a 7 year IVA, Taking 3 months to deal with trying to find a job.
Please help im At a real loss at the moment.

Your old employer cannot say anything negative about you - but they can omit quite alot.
Try and stay calm for tonight and hold tight. Sometimes Melanie logs on again later on.
There are lots of people on her who are in the same boat as you and genuinely know how you are feeling.
Hope you are okay, I'm sure you have lots of friends - you have lots on this forum!!

Thank you
I dont even know how, I should address it in the interview, if they ask about my old employer and why I left should I be completely honest?
My other referee (my ex-driving instructor and a friend) said he would send them another email detailing as:
"Stuart's Probation was not extended, which is currently under appeal, due to caring for a gentleman dying of cancer, and a doctor asking for a prescribed medication (laxatives) to be given as Prescribed and senior management being unhappy, also because they intimidated Stuart, such as the previous situation, and by not reviewing his probation until 4 days after his probation has ended, also by not supporting Stuart with his work, and leaving him as the sole person in charge of the home in the absence of management (high majority of the time) Stuart is very caring, passionate, dedicated and committed to his profession, and this situation (which may be reflected in the reference from The Village) should not jeopardise his application. It should not be viewed in negative light, more like a career development. I feel that he would be well suited to the position of staff nurse, at your hospital, and would ask that you give him the opportunity to work for you, and to develop with you, under the NHS infrastructure."
But I dont know if thats a good idea either!

Stu there are loads of people on here and they are all qualified in different areas.
There are a few people who specialise in HR issues. If you look at the Topic what is your expertise then you will find out who does what.
Post specifcally to them and if they are about they will answer your questions.
I'm sure all your lacking at the moment is a bit of confidnce as it sounds like it has been knocked quite severley. Try and keep your chin up and remember tht your last job was not meant to be. Try and move forward in a positive manner with a positive attitude (easier said than done). Good luck with everything. I hope you get the answers you need.

Hi Stu
You've definitely got friends on this forum.
So sorry to hear you are having a rotten time at work - they obviously don't value/don't care about decent staff. Their loss ...
You post on here any time you want to "talk" or have a rant. We're all here for you.
Liz

Sorry Stu - I got sidetracked on the bankruptcy forum.
First of all can I express how sorry I am to hear about your current situation. I feel that you need a little more time to consider your options before kneejerking into bankruptcy, and that you should consider matters with your own IP who has detailed knowledge of your case and background.
Put your main effort for now in finding alternative employment, and taking advice yourself from your union about the way you are being treated - which does sound very unfair.

Thanks Melanie for getting back to me, my IP Supervisor (although an excellent firm) is only stating at the moment, that I cant have a payment break, 3 months and its in arears, a drop of below £313 will have serious damage to the IVA and that i need to find a job asap.
Lets hope I get this job in Chester, and although this means a drop of iva contribution from £313 to about £220 so I guess extension to 6 or 7 years.
Thanks again
