I am so glad I have found this forum.
I have finally admitted a problem after struggling to pay 68k worth of debt that kept building up all the time.
I feel really embarrassed that as an adult, home owner and mother of two that I got myself into such a situation. However - after finding this forum - it would now appear that I am normal and human after all!
I have only started the process today so all very new - I'm sure I will be abck on here again soon to ask for advice!

Welcome indeed.

If you have got to the stage where you can admit a problem, then the next step is to contact a professional directly.

Look at www.iva.com to see a few reviews etc and definitely speak to 2 or 3 people before you make a final decision.

Regards.

Hope you manage to find the right solution - and you have already made the first giant step by admitting that you have a problem. Things will feel far more manageable when you have taken professional advice and are in a position to consider all of the options available to you. The very best of luck in your search.

Hi Apple,
I know exactly how you feel. The thing that held me back more than anything was the embarrassment and shame. Once I made the call, however, things became much clearer and I realised that help is at hand. Thankfully my case has been taken up by Melanie's team and I fell much more positive. Like you, I'm only starting out but knowing that there is such a thriving, caring and compassionate community on this forum is a massive boost. I hope one day that I can be of use to someone, as everyone on here has been to me. Keep smiling!

Hi Apple

And welcome to the forum. You are definitely not alone with a debt problem. you must never feel embarassed, I know it's easier said than done. But we are all human after all and sometimes situations can be outside our control. The next step now is to get some good advice on how to proceed from now on. There are plenty of experts out there like on the forum who can assess your situation and give you the best solution for you.

I wish you all the best, just look forward to a debt free future!

I can relate to your feelings and was too embarrased to contact an IP due to my spending on cards as recent as the day before! I contacted Tina (Melanies Company) and she made me feel that I wasn't the bad person I thought I was. Hope you find your solution quickly and all the best x
