I was out walking my dog today with my dad in the rain and I found the most beautiful dog that was lost.

I was worried at first as he is the most massive mastiff/bull terier type dog and he was running at me and my precious boy[:0] He rolled on his back and wanted a tickle on his tum so I soon found out he was a lovely dog. I was waiting for an owner to appear, but there was no one else out in the rain. He had a collar on but no tag or anything.

I took lead off my dog and put it on the lost dog and my dad struggled to walk him home as he was not very well lead trained.
I then parraded him around the village so many times in the pouring rain in and out of all shops and pubs to see if anyone recognised him. No one did and it was now 6pm. Could not keep him and knew he must have a home as he was in peak condition.
Called the local police and no one had reported him missing, dog warden does not work weekends!!

Had to take him to police station and had to leave him (in tears by this point as in love with him after 2 hours[:I]). They had kennels and were going to feed him and see if anyone claimed him, then after 7 days they would send him to a rehoming kennels.

Called him Paddy while going into pubs they were all advertising upcomming St Patricks Day celebrations[:I]

I am going to call monday and check on him and see if anyone has claimed him, otherwise I will work on my dad and say its fate and he has to have Paddy to live with him[;)]

If anyone is missing this type of dog, please contact me as he is safe and well

Our staffy hates going for her walks in the rain, as soon as she's let off the lead she runs back home. Maybe that's what happend here but he couldn't find his way home. I bet his owner is so upset and worried sick. Hopefully, they will be reunited soon. It was good luck that you found him and now he's safe.

A great success story and doesn't it make you feel good. We found a lovely Springer Spaniel in the woods behind our house once, looked after her for an evening until the Dog Warden could come and take her back to her owners. They did not even have the courtesy to say thank you!

That's good news, it's a good job Paddy found you, he might have been in real trouble if he hadn't. It's nice to know he's back with his owner and you don't have to work on your dad anymore!! lol

Well my good karma in helping Paddy came back around yesterday as my baby ran off after a deer in the woods and got lost yesterday. To say I was worried is an understatement[:0][:0][:0]

Luckily all the dog walkers around joined in the search and phoned around all the other walkers and he was found an hour later completely over the other side of the woods and a road by a lady that lives in my village!!
Luckily he had his Keepsafe tag on and she called them andthey called me on my mobile and we had a very tearful reunion in the car park[:)]
Everyone was so concerned and dropped everything to look for him and I was so grateful to them all, some things restore your faith in human kindness[:)]

When I lost Cara I was gobsmacked at how many kind people there were - complete strangers who helped me look for her. She eventually pitched up several miles away (Melanie, I lost her by Blackweir/Tescos on Western Avenue and she turned up in Leckwith!) having crossed 2 dual carridgeways and several main roads where a very kind couple took the trouble and time track me down via the address on her collar and my next door neighbour who had my mobile number because my landline had been cut off due to not paying the bill...

I was able to return the favour a few weeks later when i found a dog wandering in the park - I rang the owners via the number on her collar and they had a very tearful reunion in a Tescos car park! They gave me a massive chocolate cake to say thank you, and I'll never forget my brothers face as he stuff it full of cake - "Can you find lost dogs more often please!". Greedy Sod!
