As some of you will already know, we moved the horses over the weekend. They used to be half an hour from home which was becoming quite a chore. They are now 5 minutes away and the place they are at is really quiet.
The Shetland was a real gem, he loaded onto the horsebox really well. The big horse was an absolute IDIOT. He kept walking sideways so we couldnt get him on. After hours of trying we ended up drugging him and he just walked on.
They seem really happy and settled in their new home. Far less people coming and going. Even the big horse seems calm. Usually hes really grumpy in his stable and tried to bite anyone that walks past but we dont seem to have had any of that yet.

The best of it is, i can drop my daughter off and go back for her later, which i couldnt do at the old place. I had to hang around and wait, even on days that i really wasnt up to it.
The off road riding tracks are brilliant too and make it really easy for her to ride him home if she wanted to.
Her best friend has also moved with us so shes still going to have lots of fun.

Not only will i save loads in petrol but the Shetland has gone free so big savings all round.

That sounds so much better for you all Mrs.s & i'm glad that the horses have settled in well..i was never really into horses until stepdaughter came to live with us..she is horse mad & we used to take her to a horses & ponies protection association where she adopted 2 ponies & they were gorgeous. She now helps to look after a friends horse at wkends-he's called velvet and he's adorable.I think it's a great hobby for children & at least they are safe & doing something that they enjoy[:)]xx

It is a brilliant healthy hobby. My daughter is 16 next week and NEVER hangs around on the streets or outside shops. She much prefers spending time with her horse then coming home to relax.
