Hi all,
Myself an dmy partner have been in our IVA since creditors meeting 25th Feb.
When setting up the IVA we had a few problems as I am part time employed and part time self employed but less than 1 years accounts to prove my income.
Now... Included int he IVA are all our personal debts, bank loans, overdrafts, credit cards. However- on reading the self employment section on the site I think we may have had a mis-hap.
I have a business creditcard and business bank account - card £1000 owed, and bank recently slipped to -£80.
My business is not really going too well at all - making less and less each month, Summer months tend to show increase according to other similar traders, but no sign of that from my view!
My first question: Should my business credit card have been included int he IVA originally?
Second question: Should I be looking to replace my self employment with additonal hours at my job? OR get some extra hours and declare them as overtime? I guess the first would mean paying all of the additional money to IVA- where as technically the second would mean i kept 10% of my usual wage then 50/50 split?
While the second option seems financially better - I am not sure if there would be any point to 'flogging the dead horse' that would be my business. ( I am a sole trader originally pulling £340 profit a month - now around £50 per month - with no available finance for advertising etc.)
My way of thinking is that I need to make a decision NOW as for the last 2 months the original £340 income from self employment has been around £50 menaing that we technically cannot make our IVA payments in accordance with our budget! However - we seem to have done so ?????
Please advise as I want everything to be settled so I know where I stand for the next 5 years. I have had enough years of scraping together loose change to pay into bank accounts to cover direct debits, and adding up on a calculator in asda to make sure I dont go over £20 - I had hoped this would end when we started the IVA - but without the £340 from self employment we are heading back to that!
