Hello
1.Could I just clarify that providing we change our joint current account to a basic one (ie with no overdraft/credit etc), we do not need to notify our bank of the IVA?
They are not a creditor, and our account is always in credit.
2. Next year our fixed rate mortgage comes to an end. Do we tell the building society of our IVA when re-negotiating a replacement mortgage product? Last time we switched to a new product, we were not asked of any debt etc, and the whole process was done over the phone. Or will they know anyway? We have been customers for 10+ years with no arrears.
Thanks
Blue

Hi
There is no need to tell your bank and again no need to tell your mortgage provider unless specifically asked.

Regarding the bank account, why are you changing it if you have no debts with the bank? I didn't tell the bank and kept my 'grown up' current account with chequebook and debit card - I just had the overdraft removed. Providing you aren't with one of the banks who automatically close the accounts of people in IVAs you should be ok.

Hi Skippy
Don't want to change bank, just checking I don't have to tell them if they are not a creditor.
Thanks

I didn't tell Lloyds TSB. I did tell them when I went BR and they were happy to let me keep the account. The only reason I'm not with them now is that I had to give up my debit card to the OR and Lloyds would only give me a cashcard that can only be used in their cashpoints.
