It seems to be a common problem with Natwest.

Have you got or can you get a copy of your Experian credit report ? They are available by post for a fee of £2 normally takes about 7 days.

Hi jane

I'm going through the same problem with natwest and every other bank every one keeps telling me i'm bankrupt, when i spoke to natwest customer service they asked me to take all my details into a branch and they would take it further, however the manger i spoke to had never heard of an iva and didnt have a clue what to do....

I'm going to have to get a copy of my credit report as i need to get away from hsbc before they get rid of me[V]

I wouldn't bother with Natwest they haven't got a clue about IVA's!

Try Nationwide they were brilliant with me - took 10 minutes.

Hi
I had a similar problem with Lloyds TSB about three years ago, they insisted that I was bankrupt rather than in an IVA.
I think that the problem is that some banks just class an IVA as bankruptcy.
As for getting a bank account you can always rely on "think banking" 08456343499,they advertise as "the account open to everyone",it offers direct debits, standing orders and a Maestro debit card plus internet banking shortly. It costs £12.50 a month.

hopully hsbc wont close my account they dont seem to have shut anyone elses. i dont really want to be paying £12.50 a month for having my money go in .I am going to print off the page in the insolvency register and take it in to nat west and ask head office to look at it .They have a cheek they have given me a letter saying that when i am discharged from my bankruptcy they will look at my application.Well as far as im concerned i have never been bankrupt so how can i prove im discharged.Im gonna take it to the foc if they start.
