Had a call from Capital One today, again, had to explain the situation, again, then the person I spoke to said " you need to make a payment today!" again.

So I explained I was Proposing an IVA, again, and couldn't make a payment but a creditors meeting was set for Mar 27th. She then said I had to call another number and speak to them as they were only the collections department.

I rang the number and got the same response, they gave me another number and said ring today.

When I got home I called the number she gave me, and guess what!!! They said "how can we help" to this I said I was told to ring this number to explain my situation, again, to which he replied " your account is seriously overdue, you need to make a payment today!!!!

So in all that was 3 phone calls to 3 different departments only to get the response from all of them!!

Has anyone else had this problem????

kezza i wouldn't have bothered phoning the other numbers i would have asked the first initial person to make a note on their computer and nothing would be changing until the 27th, they will all have been notified in regards to your meeting they are just trying it on. good luck for the 27th

Thanks Kerri,

Absolutely bricking it now......I nearly didn't bother phoning but thought it might save a bit of hassle between now and then.

They did actually tell me to ring another number with details of my proposal, but I had to laugh, and said that I couldn't as I had wasted too much time on the phone as it was!

don't stress your meeting is nearly here,
maybe their ploy is to keep getting you to ring all these different numbers so in the end you say "i give up,here's a payment today" i found once my meeting date was set the calls seemed to die down for a bit, it was the odd one that phoned and to be honest the one thag gave me the most trouble was the one i owed least to.

Capital One are one of my creditors too. Before my IVA was accepted, I received a call very similar to yours demanding payment immediately. I explained that I was proposing an IVA and they also asked me to conact another number. I didn't even bother calling the number and never received another call from them again. I think scaredkez might be correct in suggesting that it is simply a tactic on their part so that people just give in and pay. Good luck for your meeting.
