I've posted off all my debt information, pay slips, valuation etc, How long should I wait before chasing up a response, days? weeks? What happens next?

Hi there,

What company are you using? If they are reputable you shouldn't have to do any chasing.

The IVA usually takes 8 - 10 weeks from the initial phone call

Hi Louise
I would give them a ring to check that they have receved it and ask them what happens next and how long. They are there to help you. The company I was with told me to ring about anything and I did quite a few times.

Thank you,
I'm using Grant Thornton, from the first phone call they said it's taking about 4-6 weeks as they are busy at the moment, assumed that was normal. I don't want to be phoning every 2 days to see whats happening, but then again I don't want to hold things up because my paperworks in a large pile and they haven't got around to phoning me for further info.

They have quite a good reputation by all accounts, you could drop them an e-mail to check they have your paperwork and ask them how long they think to the next stage.

unfortunately much of the IVA application process is a nail biting wait [B)]

Hi
I would suggest a phone call to check that all has been received and that they do not need anything else. Then call every two weeks.

evening, (or should that be morning) all.
this is my first post.
i am also with grant thornton.
our initial contact was back in november 2006.
thanks to the good old post office, who lost one envelope full of
paperwork, we have had quite a wait.
have contacted grant thornton every 10 days or so, they have been very reassuring.
they have now had our house valued and our proposal is waiting to be drafted.

Welcome Olympic
Well you are getting close now but I think you should continue chasing.Four months sounds a long time even if an envelope went astray.
Good luck

it has been a little traumatic i must admit.
been pestered to death by creditors, ge money being the worst offender.
it does tend to make things worse when i see people posting who have got things sorted in 6 weeks or so.
we had the added delay of christmas and new year, which made things worse, then as i said the post office lost a recorded delivery item with additional
paperwork in.
