Hi,

I have a problem with a savings account I had with Scottish Widows that I asked to be closed.

I sent them a letter to ask them to send the funds to my new basic bank account with Nationwide.

they ignored this and sent it to an old account with HSBC lcosed years ago. HSBC are a creditor in my proposed IVA and won't return the funds.

I've written a nasty letter to Scottish Widows about this but is there any way I can get this money back now?

I closed another account with someone else the same day and this was done correctly.

Thanks

Hi
HSBC are as much at fault here as Scottish Widows.
By keeping the funds they are preferring themselves over your other creditors.Write to them asking for a full refund within 7 days otherwise you will lodge a complaint with the banking ombudsman.
A similar thing happened to me and this course of action got an immediete refund.
