Hi
I've been advised by my iva case manager to write a letter to my creditors to explain that i'm applying for IVA etc so it doesn't come as a shock when they recieve the proposal.
Does any one have a template i could use?
Thanks

Hi Red
Your IP should be providing this to you, and also writing to your creditors as well. Thomas Charles use a very good letter - I am sure that if you gave Oliver a ring he could e-mail an example for you.

On the same note, do I need to advise my creditors I am going BR?

I don't think so Skippy. You are protected from your creditors still within the IVA, and the OR will write to them very shortly. If you really feel you ought to advise them what is going on, there is no harm however.

Melanie is quite right. There is absolutely no reason for you to inform your creditors you are declaring bankruptcy. The Court will do this on your behalf so save your ink and stamps!
If you are delaying your bankruptcy for some reason, then sometimes it does help to inform your creditors of your intentions as this may reduce their chasing. However in my experiance, if they are in a chasing mood, nothing you do or say will reduce the hassel you get. Best to get the bankruptcy done as soon as you can and then the pressure will be lifted
