I am looking at renting somewhere to live. On looking at the application form it stated that those with an adverse credit rating would not be considered. Is it worth my while applying, as I seriously need to leave the family home?

Hi
If you have a very bad credit record then you can still be accepted if you are upfront and explain your situation and can put down six months deposit.
If you are unable to do this then rent from a private landlord, they normally advertise in the small ads,as they will not credit check you.

Hello ldx,

You could still apply for rented properties through an estate agent, however this way you can be credit checked. The best thing to do if you want to apply through an agency is to be up front and honest about your current situation.

Do you have friends or family that may be able to help you with a larger deposit if needed? Usually this would provide greater security for the estate agents involved.

Hello ldx,

If no landlord would consider anyone with a bad credit rating there would be a lot of homeless people around. On the other hand landlords need to protect themselves or they wouldn't be in business.

Being prepared to pay a large deposit and/ or rental up front will show a landlord good intent.

Will moving from your family home have an adverse effect on your ability to maintain your agreed monthly IVA payment or do you think you can budget for this using the same amount you pay at home?

Best Regards

Go to shop windows who advertise rooms, they don't ask for anything except a month deposit....leave out the estate agencies.
