Don't worry too much about all this caraf.Really all this is creditors last ditch attempts to bounce you out of the path that you have chosen, and is really quite common.

It's fairly unlikely that anyone will call at your home but, if they do, politely tell them that you are not prepared to talk to them and refer them to your IP.

None of the people involved in sending all this correspondence will be involved in voting in your IVA. That's done by specialist departments and firms who will simply be influenced by the quality of your offer.

A default at this stage is a technicality and simply will be entered on your credit file and there is no debt collection process that can now prevent your IVA meeting on the 27th December.

Upsetting as this all may be, just put it all in an envelope and send it to your IP and do something nice like putting up the Christmas tree!

I agree, we were getting so much post just before our iva went through we had our own dedicated van!.
Wait for your meeting, then use it to line your budgie cage.

It is routine for creditors employing DCA to chase and harass at this period.I must have had let see 15 calls from one of MBNA's DCA from India and the UK in a month not all at once.

Just say you are doing an IVA or seeking a long term solution with creditors.

MBNA are the worse - typical quote -"Even if you are going to CCCs for a DMP or doing an IVA you still have to pay the amount in default of £XX" immediately"

Yeah right, and I am Mick Jagger

Hi
Just say that you are seeking professional advice with regards to entering into an IVA and that you are not in a position to make a payment.
Keep saying this as all they will be interested in is getting a payment from you.
Do not waiver, and do not take any notice of what they say as we often hear of ridiculous statements fron call centre staff.
Most people going down the IVA route will go through what you are going through at the moment[I certainly did,as has Skipper]it's routine.
JUST BE STRONG,you have done nothing illegal and are attempting to address your debt problems
Regards

Hi Caraf
As the others have said, its quite the norm to feel as you are, positive one minute and not the next. Not too long to go now.

Hi caraf

Please don't worry to much, I know how hard it is and scary.
As soon as creditors found out I was looking into an iva and taking professional advice I recieved lots of default notices, just forward them to your IP.
Also I had Barclaycard threatening a home visit but this never happened.
I had so much post pre my iva and it does really get you down and worry you, but please do not worry to much as you will make yourself ill and you need to be strong at this time.
If you have any worrying post please pick up the phone to your IP who should be able to help you further.
I am thinking of you and hoping you feel a bit more positive tommorrow.

Hi emma T
You are always so so positive and trueful. I think you are brilliant.
Can I ask how your iva is going, how much do you pay each month ? are you budgeting ok ? have you any tips to share with us?
What was your debt ? who were your creditors ?
Which compnay are you with ?
