Hi everyone
I am cancelling my O2 contract which is currently £20 per month to go to pay as you go. Does anyone know of any good deals on pay as you go. I am looking to keep my phone and I have just got some free sim cards but they are £10 per month top ups. I was only looking to top up £5 per month as only using phone for emergencies from now on. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Merry Christmas and a Happier New Year to you all

02 do a genie card, although it is £10 per month it comes with 300 free text messages.
I'm not sure if any of them do £5 credit these days.

Hi, just thought I would give an update on the mobile phone situation. When I phoned O2 to cancel the contract and enquire about pay as you go they did as I expected and spent ages trying to talk me out of it or sell me another contract... couln't understand me when I said I didn't have the money to pay it each month! Just as I was about to give up completely the woman said."I notice that your account has quite a bit of credit built up over the 18 month contract" When I asked her how much she said "£180". O2 agreed I could use up this credit and effectively have 10 months free mobile use.. and then move onto a cheaper deal or cancel at that point with no obligation to start another contract. I find it unbelievable that I had this credit and had I not phoned up to cancel my contract I wouldn't have been any the wiser!!

kitkatt!
If you are only going to spend £10/month on pay as you go then demand a refund from O2 for your £180, because you can have 18 months of £10 rather than waste it on 9 months of £20/mth on a contract you don't need!
O2 are getting the better deal here!
