Wish I hadn't now but I stupidly checked my credit file online a few days ago. And what a mess.

Not only were defaults being added 6 months after the IVA but when someone bought the debts they then went on to default the same debt again but with a later date. So some are showing twice for the same amount but with later default date.

Wonder if this will continue as other debts are sold on.

I understand that these defaults will remain on record for a full 6 years. So it looks like they'll be their for almost 18 months after the IVA is concluded and for almost a year after it's removed.

It's been a tough first year but it seems the creditors managed to well and truely make sure the future is just as tough.

Happy New Year

How do you go about doing this (i.e. viewing your report), and is it free?

Its free for the first 30 days but you need to set up debit card details when you register.
It's depressing reading , personally I wish I hadn't bothered.

The positive side is that it is positive viewing ... because you can't get anymore credit [:)]

I've been tempted to look but suspect I'd come away feeling like ascn..... also, I was told that the number of searches on a credit file also registers negatively and didn't want to add to that....

I did it a while ago and I emailed them to say that I didn't want the monthly report and if I remember rightly they emailed me about a week before the 30 days was up.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.
