Guess what -- Im with Npower [:(!]

"Npower is increasing both gas and electricity prices
Energy firm Npower has announced that electricity prices for its domestic customers will rise by 12.7%, while gas bills will see a 17.2% increase."

Food prices have gone up around 15%
Petrol prices around 10%
Im about to get a 2.5% pay rise ...

Im BR and pay £80 a month IPA

I seem to be worse off than I was a couple of months ago and after these latest gas and electrickery rises I reckon that Im going to be back on the value brand whisky !

Will an automatic discharge hurt.

My question is - if all the bills are increasing then will this be taken into account with our I&E's and will our IP's be more lenient on our allowances come our next reviews????

Food shopping alone has increased for me in the four months of tight budgeting by over £5 per week and that is for basic everyday living fruit, veg, meat etc - IP's need to consider this carefully when reviewing peoples needs!

We're with NPower as well unfortunately. Why don't you ask your OR to reassess your IPA Mish? With the cost of living increasing so much I'm sure they would understand - I was allowed to keep my £65 a month pay rise due to the cost of living increases.

Yes Lula - we have homes and families to, and a year ago I could fill my car up for £45 and now it is over £55. So we would have to be sympathetic when reviewing at the end of each year.

Im moving into a rented place on Tuesday next week - rent is £50 a month less than my mortgage was .
My pay rise should come through at the end of this month - backdated to Sept !
So I need to let the OR have the details.

But I'm going to have a damn good try at getting my IPA reduced, all these rises are hurting & everyone is in the same boat.

N Power are putting up prices,but all the competitors are expected to follow so it isnt worth moving companies!

How are we supposed to offer better returns each year to creditors when prices are going up so much!

Some days I could quite happily leave rip off Britain!! (

I think i wil ask the government to take all my salary ang give me £30 a week for spends, as long s every thing I buy is tax free and they give me some where to live (rent free of course).

This country is getting worse for direct and indirect taxation, and the free market on utilities is not helping.

Good luck with that Mish, let us know how you get on. I'm thinking that I might have to ask to get mine reduced what with the cost of gas and electricity going up, petrol going up (my car cost about £30 a tank when I got it, it's now heading towards £50!) and no doubt council tax will be going up as well, while I think my salary may well stay the same!

I was reading in today's paper that Martin Lewis advises NOT to change providers yet as all other power companies will follow N Power.He said wait aroud 6 weeks untill it's all settled down and we see what the others decide to do.I'm also with NPower. Cat1

Yes Cat he was on gmtv yesterday saying the same. The others are likely to follow suit so he said to wait a couple of months, before swopping.
