My F&F IVA was approved last August. As I had already sorted out the remortgage offer the funds were with GT my the end of September. I contacted GT every few weeks to find out how things have been going. I was promised that my IVA would be closed my the end of December this did not happen. When I rang GT again the other day they told me that they had all the claims in (which they had back in December) the report had been written but they still had to send the cheques out. I have now been told it might be closed by the end of the month. As we are now in a new year I was hoping to get this over with so 2008 was really a fresh start. Is there anything thing else I can try to get this finished quickly or does it normaly take this long ?

They do seem to be very slow at dealing with this, perhaps it's just the pressure of other work, but it does look like it will be finished very soon. If you get no joy within another couple of weeks, I suggest that you write a letter to the partner at Grant Thornton saying that you will be making a complaint if this matter is not speedily resolved. That usually gets your case put on the Fast Track !

IPs are really busy at the momebnt - apart from Philip and myself who spend all day on the forum! - and I am sure that they are doing their best to close this for you. There is no time limit for closing the case, apart from the statutory one, but this does seem to be taking a long time.
I find that clients who are persistent tend to get speedier treatment, so find out the name of the person who is directly responsible for this and phone them every couple of days. Usually does the trick!
