Ihave currently opted for a DMP. This will apparently finish in 27 years . I am extremely likely to be dead by then Both my husband and myself will be pensioners in 2 years. At present we are both disabled receiving DLA, Incapacity Benefit ,Pension credit and Occupational Pensions. Would we be accepted for an IVA?

I can never recommend DMPs that take that length of time, it's ludicrous. Your post suggests you are no longer employed, so you would not be suitable for IVAs either.
Is there any reason you cannot go bankrupt ?

I agree with Philip. Are you property owners and how much do you owe to creditors?

Hello c_d,
Usually a DMP is not effective for individuals with a debt which will take them more than 6 years to pay off. However your case seems to be a little different as your income is made up of benefits and pensions which most I.P & Creditors would not accept.
Do you own any major assets? Have you thought about bankruptcy?
