Be prepared for quite a long call and make sure you have all your facts, figures and documents to hand.

Hey munchkin,
good luck with the call today, hope it all goes well, I'm sure everything will be fine and you can start to feel better soon.
just had a read of your last post and I know what you are going through, it's hard and those phone calls were the thing I was most scared of. But you have realized you have a problem and you are doing something about it, always the hardest step. I fully understand what you mean when you talk about feeling ashamed. I too felt ashamed and I felt a big failure as a dad, husband and a man. But you must stop beating yourself up, getting into debt is so easy and you are doing something about it. Things will get better, there will be light at the end of the tunnel for you soon, just hang on in there.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
All the best
Mike

Thank you to all you well wishers... just feel totally nervous.
I do feel ashamed as i am in my mid 20s and a fairly intelligent person, what is even worse is that i used to work in a bank. I know it all started early for me and i can lay the blame on things that have occured in my life but the reality is its my fault!
Just been reading reviews about the company i am dealing with and they are not great! Hoping that they will be fine...
Your right i have owned up to it and i am dealing with it now and at least i have the rest of my life ahead of me debt free. I have learnt a valuable lesson of dont spend whats not in your hand! I am fortunate enough that my partner earns enough money and has poor credit (from a silly student error) so never gets offered credit cards like i did!
One small step today ... will keep you all informed

munchkin,
the last thing you should be is ashamed about your situation.
the majority of the population have money worries/problems but just try to ignore it or take more credit and end up even worse off
remember, you have taken the brave step of sorting this out so you should be proud of yourself...[:I]

Good luck munchkin, you will be fine, i have also suffered from shame and guilt at my situation, it's hard but try not too. you are young and will be able to rebuild your life and look back with pride that you took control.
well done others should do the same.

Munchkin, good luck with everything.
I am a bit peturbed that you have read reviews for the company you are using and that you say they are not great, if this is the only company you have contacted I would recommend you contact at least one other.

Hi Munchkin I agree with Jo if you are not happy with the reviews then check another company. All the best anyway for today and absolutely you should not be ashamed , pride for taking the courage to deal with things.

I agree with Jo and Ang. Don't forget that you will be dealing with the company for 5 years, so if you don't feel comfortable with them I would definitely contact at least one more company.
