You would probably be best to open a savings account as you will earn more interest. Whilst in an IVA you will have an allowance for contingencies, so this money you can save.

Hi
You can have a pre paid card in an IVA but as Jo states you will earn no interest.

Prepaid cards are ok in an IVA but if you are planning on putting a little away for a christmas etc... you are probally better with savings account or even just a basic bank account.

There are fee's with these types cards see below

Card issue fee £9.95
Monthly subscription1 (per account) £4.95 per month
ATM withdrawal £2.00 (UK) £3.00 (Non UK)
Cash withdrawal (at bank) £3.00
Additional or replacement card £9.95 Maximum
Cancellation (for refund of cash value in the Account) £10.00
Foreign transaction 2.75% of amount withdrawn/spent

so assuming £4.95 subscription per month over ten months saving for christmas that could be £50 in your pocket rather than someone else's

And £50 would buy you a big turkey and all the trimmings !!

A ususal good one is cash plus Mastercard which is the one I use. Costs 4.95 per month and there is a 10.00 initial fee!
