Morning,

I was just wondering about the 3 house valuations i need to get in year 4 of my iva.
Are the free valuations from estate agents ok or would i need to pay surveyors to value our property ?
The reason i ask this is that with every penny accounted for then where is the money coming from to pay the surveyors ?
Thanks in advance

Can I ask why three valuations? Is this something stated in your proposal or modifed by creditors. The norm is for one valuation. Subject to the wording of the proposal or modification - I consider the wording "professional valuation" to mean one carried out by an independent chartered surveyor. For the chartered surveyor to remain independent he should be instructed by your supervisor and the cost should be an expense of your IVA.

Best advice is to ask your Supervisor what his undertstanding is and who needs to instruct them and who will pay? Not an easy to comment on this point without seeing the proposal and chairmans report.

Hi Bluemoon

3 valuations does seem somewhat OTT. Where on earth is the money to come from? Is it an expense of the IVA?

I agree with abc that your first port of call should be the Supervisor

In my chairmans report, I also have to get 3 valuations, in year 4 for my equity release.

It will help if you can repeat the wording. Do you know which creditor required that provision?
