Hi Shazzles
We have just had our telephone meeting with Melanie Giles today and we will hopefully receive our proposal this week and then if everything goes well we should have our creditors meeting the first week in March.
I would just like to say that this forum has been a constant source of support and very useful information since we started this process a few weeks ago.
We have had many high points and many more low points over the past few weeks and we do wonder if what we are doing is right but anything has got to be better than wondering where the money is going to come from to pay the many bills and credit cards.
We stopped paying our creditors last month and we haven't had much hassle from them only MBNA who are destroying a small rainforest with the constant letters we are getting. They keep telling me that I need to make payments and pointing out the downside of IVA's and that I would be better making an arrangement with them myself. Has anyone out there had experience with these as I am worried about how they will vote as they hold more than 25% of my debt.
Sorry for the rambling but I have many thoughts going round my head at the moment. :)

I am just gathering all my paperwork to forward to Melanie but I still haven't received my mortgage redemtion figure so I have to chase that up and I am having my house valued tomorrow. It's hard to sort all this out when you work full time and have no holiday allowance left.

Hopefully I will be in a position to send everything early next week. I have stopped paying everyone but not really having any problems with creditors at the moment. I got paid for the first time into my new bank account today so I can tell my bank about the IVA.

Good Luck to all those with pending meetings and keep us posted.

Mine is tomorrow and I am so worried, what if they ask for more money, they have already left us virtually nothing at all to live on.

Hi Kadge

Good luck for tomorrow but do be careful not to agree to payments you cannot afford. It is easy to get swept away by the relief of knowing that your debts are being dealt with, but not at the price of purgatory for the next five years. Some of the allowances being suggested by lenders at the moment are really frugal.
