Higher than creditors would usually allow - but more than reasonable in my book. Do you know what it is supposed to cover, and do you have other expenditure allowances for car maintenance, house maintenance, medical expenditure and sundry? Or is it just all lumped into contingency?

Here is our expenses as agreed in our iva.
Rent £270 (In a council property)
Housekeeping/food £550
Gas/elec and water £130
Landline/internet/sky £60
Council Tax £90
Mobile phone (2) £40
Life Insurance £20
House Insurance £14
Tv Licence £10
Clothing £125
Car tax,maintenance,and insurance £65
Petrol £110
Travel expenses (public transport) £45
Optical,medical and dental £40
School expenses £45
Contingency £100
As said before this is for 2 adults and 3 children (1 CAT)

Hi Rachel
Under the CCCS guidelines you would only be allowed between £426 and £520 for housekeeping, between £63 and £80 for clothing and £24 towards medical expenses, although there are other areas you could use to supplement, so on the whole it seems you have a relatively fair budget.

Thanks Melanie , I thought that our allowances are quite generous .Im very grateful though after reading some posts alot of people havent got the allowances we have and some are struggling.I was amazed that some people havent got the contingency allowance !
