Hi, I had a spare 1.00 coin today and bought a scratch card. I won 8.00, well actually 7.00, now pre IVA I would have not given this a second thought, but today that 8.00 meant a lot.
I went to Asda got my 8.00 from the lottery counter and bought the following:
2x washing up liquid
2x disinfectant
1x kitchen cloths
1x washing machine tablets (15 tabs)
1x bottle of wine (cheap offer 2.50)
2x bleach
I spent in total 6.70
The above is either smartprice or Asda's own brand but who cares its fit for purpose. Pre IVA I would have put the 8.00 in my purse and frittered it away without a second thought, but not anymore, now I am in the real world and actually I like it.

Well done Marsha. Like you say, it does show the value of money.
I must admit, I am finding life so much better now I am in an IVA - no more dread for the credit card bills, no more sleepless nights, the freezer is full of food (courtesy of online tesco shopping!) - it's a different life, it's a challenging life, but it's most definitely a BETTER LIFE. My only regret is not doing it about 12 months ago when I first started struggling to repay my credit cards.

I agree with you all and without a credit card we do not spend, spend, spend, for the sake of it and now we tend to value everything we buy. Also we only buy something we really need because we do not have unlimited funds to do otherwise

Well done Marsha!!!!
I used to wonder how I would manage without my cards when using them was a way of life. Now I know, JUST FINE!!!!!
I often do my grocery shop online as it helps to keep you to that budget and you can put stuff back that you don't really need-also no embarrassment at the checkout when you don't have enough cash!!!!!
It is definately a better feeling, no worry about how your going to pay the bills or what your going to say to your creditors when they call......
Just goes to prove, there is life without credit. [;)]

I worried about how I would cope without my cards, but I don't really miss them at all.
I wouldn't have been good enough to spend the £8 on household items, I would have been straight to the clothing section! Even that means I've changed - before I would have been 'putting the money towards' something from Next!
