Just wanted to share with everyone that after 22 months of our IVA and living to our budget I think we have finally cracked it and got it working for us. For the first time since we were 18 (some 12 distance years ago) we've actually got some savings - not alot but its better than nothing. I think its down to using different bank account for different parts of the budget!

Although huhbby is now convinced that I am obsessed with budgeting and i keep setting up pages on excel like my "savings accelerator" where at the end of the month I find out what money is left in each account and then see it accumulate over the year.

When I get 5 minutes spare and the interenet working back at home I'll post the details on my blog along with everything else so it could be help to someone!

PS Are there any restrictions on becoming an IP?

Becoming an IP is a long-winded process, involving a combination of work experience and passing quite tough professional examinations. There are not restrictions, but you do need to be working for an insolvency firm in order to be eligible for qualification.
