Is a house valuation an integral part of setting up an IVA and if so how is it paid for if you can#t afford it?

Thanks

Unfortunately the house does have to be valued but you can get around this by getting two estate agents around on the basis that you are thinking of selling and then say after you receive their letters that you are not interested.

it was the least of our worries!

As part of putting the IVA together I would not expect to have to get a formal i.e paid for valuation, unless the circumstances were exceptional or perhaps HMRC are your biggest creditor.

I always get a written professional valuation, but rarely a paid for one - even for HMRC. Most estate agents will provide valuations on a free of charge basis if they feel there is the whiff of a sale at the end of it for them.
