What scary statistics!
Discovered my own scary statistic last night - 10% of our wedding guests including us have been declared officially insolvent!

That is awfully scary to read!! The first three points especially. I am glad to say that I am making inroads to not be one of those scary statistics!

Hi
There has been about 100 thousand IVAs between 2002 and 2007,increasing year on year.If you consider that about 30% fail in the first two years, this would leave about 80 thousand as recent ones would still be going. Then you need to consider the amount that will have settled early,so at a guess I would say that there are between 60 and 70 thousand 'live' IVAs at present.

Andy,
I would actually say it is alot higher than that - i was on a course earlier this week and one of the areas covered was IVA's.
In 2007 106,645 people were declared insolvent of which 46,000 were IVA's - yes there will be failures along the way be i execpt the number of people currently to be in an IVA to be in excess of 150,000.
But that is more an educated guess rather than a fact [:D]

Hi
I will try to get the accurate figures over the weekend.
I subscribe to the Insolvency register so should be able to confirm the correct figures of people B and people currently in IVA's.
there are also other categories such as suspended IVA's, Bankruptcy Restriction Orders, etc.
will nip into office if my wife lets me out of the garden to check.

And if the weather is anything to go by you may be better popping in the office than the garden [:D]
