As all us tax payers are going to be given a sort of tax rebate this year to make up for the abolition of the 10p tax rate, will we have to pay any of this across to our IVA's? I know we will get a lump sum of £60 in September and then £10 per month for the remainder of the year. Of course it all goes to bump up your salary for the year, and then it will go down again!

Will those of us in IVA's be affected by this?

Depends upon the terms of the IVA to be honest, but unlikely to make IPs too excited.

Unfortunately I'm sat here with a right smart......Alec!

OH has been screaming I told you so at the TV for the last few weeks. If I hear him say 'what did I tell ya' or 'I said this would happen' or 'I knew it' once more then I think he can wear the laptop!![:I]

He had calculated how much will both receive in our pay etc over the coming months as the news item was still on - shame he didn't put his accountancy to more use a bit sooner!!!
Although saying that we wouldn't have been able to juggle for so long if he hadn't been quite good! Is that a good or a bad thing hey ho never mnd in the process of being sorted now.[:I]

We had a bit of a giggle about it tonight as I remnded him that ne of the first loans we got was so we could pay for him to do a college course in none other than accounting - how bad is that![:I]
It has been the first time we have smiled over the debt (more the irony).

I would love to but I'm soooo sick of hearing him mumbling and muttering oh and shouting about it. I sort of switch off as you do when you've been with someone for years.
Since joining this site I have found that I keep answering his questions and comments wrong. The other day he brewed up for me and I said 'your welcome'?? I meant to say thank you lol. He said why am I welcome I brewed up, followed by I knew you don't listen to me when you are on that site - oops!

note how they are offering £120 for the year and some people lost £230.... and the people in the 40% rate that lose even more by the reduction in higher tax bracket..

It's all a huge con.. and an expensive one.. but hey .. not trying to do politics on here lol

It sounds like there is an echo!!

You should join forces with the oh - make a good pair!

As long as I get paid I'm reasonably happy.

I would like to earn more money but - always a but, but I would have to be enhanced vetted again and I'm not that keen on going through the mill. We'll see.

Animal your tiger is cute by the way!

Is that DV vetting? That's a nightmare!! Some of the people i work with have it.. Takes AGES

I'm okay re my pay. Can't complain as there are plenty of people in a worse position than me.. I just object to losing loads of it to be wasted.

I just laughed at the way they had made some people better off and to compensate people that have become worse off they have to BORROW £2.7bn... which we will all be paying, so we are all gonna be worse off lol. You couldn't make it up if you tried"!

Tis a cute little tig hey :o)

DV vetting does take ages yes. Last time I had to have an interview and then it was reviewed 12mths later. I am now worse off financially so what are the chances - I won't know til I try though hey. I'm on civvie wages - RUBBISH!!

There is definately an echo regarding the tax. I have heard it at work and at home lol.

Defo cutie little tig!

I know what you mean with regards dodgy characters! You wouldn't believe some of the things I have got to do in the next few weeks - not nice at all and I feel that they are not necessary. Very cloak and dagger eh! If only 'joe public' really knew lol!

Hope you have had a good day XX

Basically they are increasing your personal allowance by £600. It will come into effect in Sept and you will get a one of payment of £60 in sept salary and then you will benefit from £10 a month goling forward - so I beleive.............I sort of stopped listening half way through as at the mo our money is still not our own!

All that said apparently upper rate tax payers personal allowance is coming down - this is only what I beleive.

I so hope I'm right now I am willing to stand corrected. XX

No I understandi it is to come in Sept pay. and then a tenner each month until tac year end £120 in total! So you get your list ready for duty free. It will probably be reviewed in the pre budget report.
